In early October 2023, education professionals, administrators, and clinicians from school districts across the western United States gathered at the RTM West Special Education conference. This four-day event served as a platform for in-depth discussions, sharing insights, and exploring the evolving landscape of special education. One significant theme that emerged during the conference was the use of teletherapy in special education.

Coviu exhibited at the ASHA Schools Connect Conference 2023 in beautiful Long Beach, California. From July 13th to 15th, educators and professionals in the speech-language pathology field gathered to exchange knowledge and explore the latest advancements in their field.

Telehealth was largely embraced as a vital alternative to in-person medical consultations during the COVID lockdowns, but what is its role now that systems are transitioning to a COVID-normal phase?

March 2022 marked two years since the pandemic began and changed life as we knew it, forever. As I write this today, we are entering the second wave of omicron variant infections, and the fear of overcrowded hospitals and pressure on the healthcare system is still very much impacting how we manage the virus. While there are still more questions than answers when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic, the lockdowns have been a silver lining for the development of digital health in Australia and beyond. The progress that we have seen in the past two years in digital health is immense and we are seeing an acceleration of the momentum that will lead to a much more efficient, streamlined and accessible healthcare system that Australia and the world need. But let me start from the beginning and share Coviu’s story and the important role it has played in Australia's battle with COVID-19.

Residents of rural and remote Australia often experience disadvantages and inequalities when it comes to healthcare access and delivery. Traditionally, access to speech and language sessions for children has been restricted to in-person visits. As a result, access to speech therapy for children living in rural and regional areas has been extremely limited and non-existent in many remote areas.
