Aged care residents will have the option of telehealth this festive season for behavioral health support, bridging service gaps during the holiday period, Aged Care News reports.

Telehealth has been around since the late 1950s, but only in recent years has the adoption of telehealth skyrocketed. In large part due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more patients than ever sought out virtual care from health professionals. Telehealth was a convenient, safer alternative access to care.

Medicare reimbursements for telehealth services have been extended to 2023! The announcement direct from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), issued a final ruling that includes updates and policy changes for Medicare payments under the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS), and other Medicare Part B issues, effective on January 1, 2023.
